APC Councilors Unite Under Ganduje for 2027 Elections

On July 29, 2026, four major factions of serving and former councilors under the All Progressives Congress (APC) merged to form a unified platform aimed at consolidating grassroots support for the party. This historic harmonization occurred during a reconciliation dialogue hosted by Dr.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former National Chairman of the APC and former Governor of Kano State. The factions involved were the Progressive Serving Councilors’ Forum of Nigeria, Coalition of Past and Present APC Councilors of Nigeria for Tinubu/Shettima 2027, National Progressive Councilors’ Forum, and National Association of Past and Present Progressive Councilors.

The resolution signed by the leaders mandated the dissolution of their independent operations, creating the National Progressive Serving Councilors’ Forum (NPSCF) for current councilors and the National Progressive Former Councilors’ Forum (NPFCF) for past councilors. Dr.

Ganduje was appointed Grand Patron, with a Caretaker Committee established to oversee operations, ensuring balanced representation across the two wings.
