Enugu Catholic Diocese Rejects Tinubu, Mbah Rally

The Enugu Catholic Diocese has officially rejected a planned endorsement rally for President Bola Tinubu and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, which was scheduled to occur at the Jubilee Hall of the Holy Ghost Cathedral in Enugu. Rev. Fr. Anthony Anek, the director of communications for the diocese, stated that the church does not permit its facilities to be used for partisan political activities, including endorsement rallies.

The diocese emphasized that the planned event does not align with its policy position and expressed regret over any misunderstandings that may have arisen from the announcement. The diocese urged the public to disregard any impressions that the event had the church's approval.

The statement clarified that the venue would not be made available for political gatherings, reinforcing the church's stance against involvement in partisan politics.
