Fintiri Declares Neutrality Ahead of 2027 Elections

On a recent date, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State announced his neutrality in the political landscape leading up to the 2027 gubernatorial elections. Speaking at a high-level stakeholders meeting at the Government House in Yola, he asserted that the choice of leadership rests solely with the electorate.

Fintiri dismissed speculation regarding his influence over the gubernatorial aspirants, stressing that the people will ultimately decide who becomes the next governor. He urged political aspirants to engage directly with grassroots voters to earn their mandates through credible interactions.

Fintiri reassured members of the Progressive Congress (APC), particularly those aspiring for the governorship, amid concerns following a recent defection from the party in February. He clarified that he would remain neutral throughout the political process, emphasizing that leadership cannot be imposed on citizens.
