Ladoja Declines to Endorse Oyo PDP Candidate for 2027

On Monday, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland and former governor of Oyo State, received Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, at his palace in Ibadan. Gbolarumi, who previously served as deputy governor, was accompanied by PDP State Chairman Professor Abdulrahman Akinoso, State Secretary Dr Biola Olanipekun, and other party leaders.

Gbolarumi stated that he was the first governorship candidate to seek the Olubadan's blessing, emphasizing Ladoja's historical role in bringing the PDP to Oyo State in 1998. Akinoso highlighted the importance of the visit for securing royal support before the political campaigns begin.

Ladoja clarified that he has not endorsed any candidate, stating that all candidates are considered his children, regardless of their political affiliations. He urged candidates to conduct peaceful campaigns and warned against actions that could lead to lasting divisions.
