Peter Obi Promises No Persecution of Opposition in 2027

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria's Democratic Congress (NDC), declared that he will not persecute opposition parties if he becomes Nigeria's president in 2027. In an interview, Obi, who is also a former governor of Anambra State, expressed his commitment to ensuring that the political system functions effectively.

He stated that his administration would not prosecute anyone politically for any wrongdoing in office. Obi emphasized the necessity of having a strong opposition party in Nigeria, asserting that he would invite opposition parties to engage in discussions with stakeholders to address the issues affecting the country.

He reiterated his intention to foster a political environment where diverse viewpoints can coexist and contribute to national discourse.
