Peter Obi Vows No Intimidation in 2027 Elections

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that his supporters will not tolerate intimidation during the upcoming 2027 general elections. He made this declaration on Thursday at a town hall meeting held in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

Obi emphasized that no polling unit has more than five officials, arguing that such a small number should not intimidate approximately 50 voters. He asserted, “Coming into the 2027 election, nobody will intimidate us again at the polling unit.

Forget all these noises.” Obi also expressed concerns about potential manipulation of the Independent Results Viewing (IReV) system, stating that it would be more difficult this time around. He mentioned that there would be multiple IReVs available, and if one fails, another would be provided without glitches, as allowing the current issues to persist would negatively impact lives.
