2027: Jonathan PDP’s best bet for presidential election – Ex-Jigawa Gov, Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido has identified Goodluck Jonathan as the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) top candidate for the 2027 presidential election. In an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today program, Lamido urged the PDP to make a concerted effort to bring back Jonathan, whom he believes is the party's best bet.

Lamido emphasized Jonathan's understanding of governance and experience, stating that he is the strongest option for the PDP in the upcoming election. Despite continuous speculation about Jonathan's potential return to the PDP and a presidential bid in 2027, the party has officially denied offering him a ticket or actively wooing him.

However, political insiders claim that efforts are underway within the PDP to persuade Jonathan to run, positioning him as a strong challenger to President Bola Tinubu in the next general election.
