Atiku Claims Superior Northern Support Over Rivals

In a recent interview, Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), asserted that he possesses a more substantial support base in Northern Nigeria compared to other influential politicians such as Rabiu Kwankwaso, Aminu Tambuwal, and Nasir El-Rufai. He emphasized that despite their popularity, none of these politicians have a voter base that matches his reach across the region.

Atiku specifically pointed out that Kwankwaso's influence is largely restricted to Kano State, where political support is divided, particularly with the current governor, Abba Yusuf. This statement reflects Atiku's confidence in his political standing as he prepares for the 2027 elections, positioning himself as a leading candidate with broader appeal in Northern Nigeria.
