Naval Chief Idi Abbas Calls for Professionalism Ahead of Elections

Vice Adm. Idi Abbas, the Chief of the Naval Staff, addressed naval and military personnel on September 26, 2026, during the Third Quarter Route March 2026, urging them to remain apolitical, non-partisan, and professional in their duties as the 2027 elections approach. Represented by Rear Adm. Kolawole Oguntuga, Abbas stressed the Armed Forces' responsibility to support the democratic process while adhering to legal and constitutional directives.
