El-Rufai Urges INEC to Adopt Electronic Voting by 2027 Elections

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai emphasized the need for Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to fully adopt electronic voting and transmission of results by the 2027 general election. El-Rufai highlighted the success of electronic voting in Kaduna State's local government elections from 2018 to 2021, urging INEC to deploy necessary infrastructure nationwide.

He argued that electronic voting would eliminate electoral malfeasance and human manipulation. El-Rufai proposed using electronic voting machines configured to verify voters, provide a paper trail, and transmit results seamlessly to collation centers.

This move aims to enhance the credibility and transparency of Nigeria's electoral process.
