Oba of Benin Endorses Tinubu for 2027 Re-election

On September 15, 2026, the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's bid for a second term in office during a visit from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) at the Benin Royal Palace. The delegation was led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the PCC's Director-General, and included notable figures such as George Akume, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Senator Adamu Aleiro, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Aminu Bello Masari, Pius Anyim, and Sunday Dare.

Yari conveyed Tinubu's greetings and highlighted the administration's achievements, including reduced food prices and stabilized currency. The Oba expressed gratitude for the reception he received in Abuja and prayed for Tinubu to secure a renewed four-year mandate.

He encouraged Nigerians and opposition parties to support Tinubu, stating that those who believe in his performance should collaborate with him to continue his work.
