Peter Obi Rejects Wike's Claims of Political Vendetta

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), addressed comments made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, regarding the potential repercussions he would face if President Bola Tinubu loses the 2027 general elections. Wike stated that he would be among the first politicians to suffer consequences, particularly from Atiku Abubakar and Obi himself, reaffirming his support for Tinubu's re-election.

In response, Obi dismissed Wike's assertions, stating that he would not waste time or resources pursuing personal vendettas against those who opposed him. He expressed his commitment to focusing on governance and serving Nigeria effectively, rather than engaging in retribution.

Obi remarked, “I cannot campaign to be president only to start pursuing people,” emphasizing the importance of doing things properly within the law and available resources.
