Ebonyi ADC Faces Leadership Crisis Over Candidate Imposition

The Ebonyi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is experiencing a leadership crisis as members openly reject an alleged plot to impose candidates ahead of the upcoming congress. Dr.

Jennifer Adib Nwafor, the state chairman, expressed gratitude for the support she has received and emphasized the importance of maintaining internal democracy without sacrificing political convenience. She warned that any attempt to impose candidates would destabilize the party and undermine the principles of fairness and justice, particularly regarding the allocation of leadership positions among the zones.

Nwafor clarified that her tenure is valid until May 22, 2026, and she is committed to working towards building a strong platform for the party. Barrister Emmanuel Nwobo supported her stance, warning that failure to uphold inclusivity could have serious consequences for the party's future.

Tensions escalated during a stakeholders' meeting, leading to a reported walkout by some members, including Charl Uzor, the ADC chairman of Onicha.
