Odigie-Oyegun Backs Amaechi for 2027 Presidential Run

John Odigie-Oyegun, a prominent chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), publicly declared the party's full backing for Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transport, as he prepares to run for the presidency in the 2027 elections. This announcement was made during an address to newsmen on Friday, as the 2027 electoral period approaches.

Amaechi had previously met with ADC leaders in the South South region to formally declare his intent to pursue the presidential ticket. Odigie-Oyegun expressed his satisfaction with Amaechi's decision, noting the importance of the South South zone in the national political landscape.

He urged the region to support its own and ensure that they present a united front in the pursuit of leadership roles. Odigie-Oyegun also mentioned plans to regularly engage with group leaders to share experiences and strengthen the political structure within the zone.
