Former President Goodluck Jonathan has publicly dismissed reports alleging that he received a N500 billion offer to contest against Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the 2027 general elections. Jonathan described the claim as entirely false, asserting that he had not made any statement regarding such an offer.

His spokesperson, Dr. Ikechukwu Ez, clarified that the report was fabricated and intended to create unnecessary political controversy ahead of the elections.

Ez emphasized that the report lacked credible sources and failed to provide specific details regarding when Jonathan allegedly made such comments. He urged the public to disregard the claims, which were characterized as a deliberate attempt to mislead and stir political tension.
