NPF Convicts Arms Trafficker in Katsina State Case

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) successfully secured a conviction in an arms trafficking case in Katsina State. The case involved Abdussalam Muhammad Aminu Mamman, who was intercepted along Ingawa Karkarku Road while transporting prohibited firearms and ammunition.

During the operation, authorities recovered a machine gun, 230 rounds of ammunition, and 1,663 rounds of 7.62mm and 39mm AK-47 ammunition. Following a comprehensive investigation, Mamman was charged in the Federal High Court in Katsina under charge number FHC KT 84C 2025 with five counts, including criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearms.

The trial included the presentation of witnesses and documentary evidence. The court found Mamman guilty on one count, resulting in a five-year imprisonment sentence, and on another count, he received a 20-year sentence.

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu commended the investigative and prosecutorial efforts that led to this successful conviction, reiterating the NPF's commitment to combatting terrorism and disrupting illicit arms proliferation.
