Babachir Lawal Urges ADC to Replace Atiku for 2027

Babachir Lawal, who previously served as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has advised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to replace Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 general elections. Lawal expressed his views in a statement posted on his Facebook page, where he criticized the ADC's primary elections, alleging that they were heavily rigged in favor of Atiku Abubakar.

He emphasized that Atiku has not effectively addressed his past electoral defeat to Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential elections. Lawal urged the ADC to focus on selecting a qualified candidate who could inspire hope and confidence among voters, rather than continuing with a candidate who has faced significant criticism.

He also mentioned the importance of addressing issues raised by the electorate and the need for the ADC to prepare adequately for the upcoming elections.
