Dickson Rules Out 2027 Presidential Bid Against Tinubu

Seriake Dickson, the former governor of Bayelsa State and current senator representing Bayelsa West, has publicly stated that he has no immediate plans to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections. During a press conference in Abuja, Dickson highlighted that his current focus is on establishing a credible political platform rather than pursuing personal ambitions.

He dismissed suggestions that his recent resignation from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) was part of a strategy to challenge Tinubu, insisting that the NDC, which he is associated with, is focused on building a solid foundation for a national political platform. Dickson called on politicians across Nigeria to join the NDC, which aims to become a broad-based national platform.

He clarified that the new NDC should not be confused with the defunct Niger Delta Congress and emphasized the importance of strengthening political institutions in the country.
