CUPP Alleges Plot to Stop Peter Obi From 2027 Elections by Tinubu's Camp

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) claims that Bola Tinubu's camp is concerned about Peter Obi's rising political strength as a presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. CUPP's National Secretary, Peter Ameh, revealed that there are alleged efforts to keep Obi off the ballot, citing online attacks and monitoring of Obi's activities.

The government reportedly sees Obi as a major disruptor to their plans. Notable political figures like Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi are expected to join the race.

Despite Tinubu's purported fear, Obi's strong performance in the 2023 elections has positioned him as a serious political force for 2027.
