Tinubu's Forum Claims He Can Challenge Obi in 2027

The Ndigbo for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Forum stated that President Bola Tinubu has the potential to challenge Peter Obi's support in the South-East for the 2027 presidential election. The forum, represented by National Coordinator Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Secretary-General Ugwuoke Ugwuoke Jr., warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to assume that political appointments, endorsements, and rallies would automatically convert into votes.

They referenced the 2003 election, where former President Olusegun Obasanjo garnered significant support in the region despite the candidacy of Igbo leader Chukwuemeka Ojukwu. The forum emphasized that the APC must address longstanding grievances among Ndigbo, particularly those related to policies from former President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.

They called for credible leadership, reconciliation, and grassroots engagement, urging the APC to reassess its strategy based on past electoral performances in the region. The group warned against relying on misleading reports of the APC's strength, which could create a disconnect between Tinubu and the voters.
