Federal Government Unveils 2027 Exam Timetable for Students

On October 14, the Federal Government announced a coordinated examination timetable for 2027, aiming to release results from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS by August. This plan allows candidates to apply for tertiary institution admissions starting in September.
The proposal was communicated in a statement by Folasade Boriowo, the Director of Press and Public Relations. Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, the Minister of State for Education, held a meeting with heads of major examination bodies in Abuja to advance this harmonization plan.
The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by JAMB is scheduled for March 15 to 25, 2027, with results expected by the end of March. NECO's Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) will take place from April 1 to May 14, while WAEC's West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is set for May 11 to June 18.
NABTEB exams are planned for June 1 to July 5, and NBAIS will conduct its exams from June 10 to July 9. The initiative is part of the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative, led by Minister of Education Tunji Alausa, aimed at improving efficiency and expediting access to higher education for Nigerian students.
