Federal Government Sets 2027 Exam Timetable with JAMB

The Federal Government has proposed a harmonised examination timetable for 2027, aiming to streamline the examination process and facilitate timely admissions into tertiary institutions. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is scheduled to take place from March 15 to March 25, 2027.
Results from major examination bodies are expected to be released by August 2027, allowing eligible candidates to begin their tertiary admission processes by September. The proposed timetable also includes the National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination from April 1 to May 14, and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from May 11 to June 18.
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) examinations are proposed for June 1 to July 5. JAMB emphasized that these dates are provisional and urged candidates to await official confirmations from the respective examination bodies.
This harmonisation follows recent changes by JAMB to improve examination requirements and O’Level result processing.
