Edo Governor Predicts 2.5 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027

In an interview on Channel Television, Governor Mondai Okpebholo of Edo State expressed strong support for Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election, stating that the entire state will vote for him. Okpebholo emphasized that he anticipates at least 2.5 million votes from Edo State, attributing this to the positive impact of Tinubu's administration across Nigeria.

He criticized the previous leadership under Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who won the state in the 2023 elections, suggesting that the electorate's decision was a reaction to the failure of Governor Godwin Obaseki to deliver good governance. Okpebholo argued that the people of Edo want a voice and are dissatisfied with the current administration's performance, which he believes will lead them to support Tinubu in the upcoming polls.
