Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor Seeks APGA Ticket for Orumba

Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor has declared his intention to seek the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket to represent the Orumba federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

In an engagement with journalists in Abuja, he outlined his legislative priorities, emphasizing his qualifications based on years of experience in medicine and public service, particularly in healthcare interventions across Nigeria. Nwankwor aims to secure a position on the House Committee on Health to advocate for significant healthcare reforms, identifying healthcare financing as a major priority.

He highlighted the urgent need for reform, citing Nigeria's alarming child mortality rate of 111 per 1,000 live births, which indicates that one in every eight Nigerian children will not reach their fifth birthday. Nwankwor, a pediatric intensivist, plans to focus on establishing pediatric intensive care units across Nigeria and improving access to affordable healthcare.

He also discussed the importance of training specialized doctors and nurses to enhance critical care services in the country.
