Udeze Wins APGA Ticket for Ogbaru Two Constituency

Somtochukwu Udeze, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, secured the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket for the Ogbaru Two Constituency in the primary election held on May 23, 2026. According to a press release from Emma Madu, the Senior Special Assistant and Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Udeze received 7,187 votes, defeating his challenger, Mr.

Eneb Afamefuna, who garnered 168 votes. Barrister Barnaba Kener declared Udeze the winner, confirming he had the highest number of valid votes cast.

The primary was described as peaceful, with a large turnout and was observed by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission. In his reaction, Udeze thanked the party members for their confidence in him and pledged to continue working towards peace, unity, and the development of Ogbaru, aiming to improve the living standards in the constituency.

Udeze's re-election bid has received endorsements from the people of Ogbaru Two, reinforcing his position as APGA's candidate for the next House Assembly election.
