Nigerians May Forgive Tinubu for 2027 Elections, Says Ndume

On Thursday, Ali Ndume, a federal lawmaker representing Borno South, expressed that Nigerians might forgive President Bola Tinubu and support him in the 2027 elections if his administration demonstrates significant reforms that lead to improved governance. Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today, Ndume acknowledged that many citizens are currently unhappy with the progress made under Tinubu's leadership, primarily due to ongoing insecurity and inadequate welfare for the populace.

He emphasized that despite these challenges, the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains confident that the opposition, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC), does not pose a significant threat in the upcoming elections. Ndume's comments reflect a belief that if the government can turn around the current situation, public sentiment may shift positively towards Tinubu by the time of the next election.
