Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has officially declared his intention to contest the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, aiming to unseat current Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan. Bello made the announcement during a visit to the palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, expressing readiness to represent the district in the National Assembly.

The event reportedly drew the presence of Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo and other political leaders. Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan currently holds the Kogi Central Senatorial seat after winning the 2023 election, as reported by Daily Post.
