Trial Witness Corroborates Testimony on Alleged Church Bloodbath in Owo

The trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja involves the alleged participation of the 2nd defendant, Al Quasim Idri, in a deadly attack at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State in 2022.

The 8th witness from the Department of State Services (DSS) supported the 7th witness's testimony, identifying Idri as part of the group responsible for the attack. Witnesses recounted a gunfight near the church premises, where Idri was identified and later seen exchanging gunfire at close range before fleeing into a nearby bush.

The prosecution detailed the involvement of Idri, along with other suspects, in the attack that resulted in multiple casualties. The trial proceedings included testimonies from witnesses, including accounts of the pursuit and apprehension of the attackers by security operatives.
