In Niger State, police operatives arrested three suspects for the murder of Tani Nuhu, a 65-year-old woman, allegedly due to accusations of witchcraft. Police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun reported that Mohammed Sani, who is from Kebbi State, trespassed into Nuhu's residence and killed her.
Alongside him, Isa Lamaran, 65, and Abdullahi Hamidu, both from Kokolo village in Auna District, were apprehended. Mohammed stated that Isa provided him with a hoe to commit the murder, while Abdullahi promised him two plots of land and his daughter's hand in marriage if he succeeded. Mohammed managed to kill Tani and severely injured another woman before his arrest.
All suspects are currently held at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna, awaiting further investigation and charges for criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and causing grievous hurt.
