Four Arrested for Farmer's Murder Over Witchcraft Claims
The Bauchi State Police Command arrested four men—Shitu Dahiru (25), Magaji Dahiru (42), Sabi’u Auwalu (20), and Abbah Abdulzahar (19)—for the murder of 45-year-old farmer Garba Abdullahi. Abdullahi's younger brother reported the incident at the Gadau Divisional Police Headquarters around 12:35 PM, stating that the attack occurred at approximately 11:40 AM. The suspects reportedly stabbed and macheted Abdullahi, leaving him unconscious.
Police operatives transported him to the General Hospital in Azare, where he was later pronounced dead. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the killing and warned against jungle justice based on superstitious beliefs.
