32 Teams Set for Inaugural Gombe State Super League

The Gombe State Football Association (FA) has announced that 32 football clubs will participate in the inaugural Dare to Dream Gombe State Super League, aimed at fostering grassroots football development and talent discovery in Gombe State. The draw for the competition took place on Monday in Gombe, marking a significant step in enhancing football standards and creating pathways for young players to enter professional leagues.

Mr. Philibus Yakubu Sarma, Chairman of the Gombe State FA, emphasized that the league will provide a competitive environment for clubs and players, with a strict stance against hooliganism.

He encouraged players to aspire for opportunities in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and Nigeria National League (NNL). The tournament is set to commence on Saturday at Pantami Stadium, where all matches will be held.

Bappah Abdullahi Gombe, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Youth and Sports, described the initiative as unprecedented in the state and assured government support. The clubs are divided into eight groups, with Group A including Landa Boys, FC Yansamari, Pantami Pillars, and Best Sport Academy.
