Four Teams Compete for Gombe Emir’s Cup Final Spot

The 2026 Gombe Emir’s Cup, also known as the "Kings Cup," is entering its semi-final stage with four Emirate Council football teams vying for a place in the final. The fixtures released by the tournament's Organising Committee indicate that the second semi-final will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., featuring Nafada Emirate Council against Dukku Emirate Council.

Earlier, Funakaye Emirate Council secured their spot in the semi-finals with a 3-1 victory over Gombe Emirate Council, while Late Shehu Abubakar Emirate Council won 1-0 against Tula Traditional Council. Nafada advanced after defeating Pindiga 2-1, and Dukku progressed by overcoming Dadiya Traditional Council 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The tournament is organized and sponsored by Hon. Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe to promote grassroots football and foster unity among diverse ethnic communities in Gombe State.

The grand finale is set to take place at Pantami Stadium, Gombe, with expected attendance from notable dignitaries, including Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III.
