Tanker Brake Failure Causes Multiple Vehicle Accident in Edo

A multiple vehicle accident occurred at the Ikpoba River Bridge in Edo State, injuring five people. Eyewitness Ken Omusi reported that the driver of a tanker experienced brake failure and lost control after hitting a pothole, causing the tanker to veer off its lane and collide with other vehicles.

Three of the injured individuals were transported to the hospital for medical attention. Emergency responders, including personnel from the Edo State Emergency Management Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps, Police, and Fire Service, arrived at the scene to assist with rescue operations and manage traffic.

Preye Ezekiel Bedford, the Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed that eight people were involved in the accident, with five sustaining injuries while the others escaped unhurt. Fortunately, no lives were lost in this incident.
