5.5 Million Nigerian Households Benefit from Cash Transfers for Poverty Reduction

The Nigerian government, through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, has disclosed that at least 5.5 million households in Nigeria are benefiting from cash transfer programs aimed at poverty reduction. Dr.

Bernard Doro revealed this during the inauguration of a national steering committee meeting for the "Act Naija" project in Abuja. The initiative includes various programs such as conditional cash transfers, grants for vulnerable groups, micro-credit schemes, and support for livelihoods.

The Ministry is working with stakeholders to review and update national social protection policies to address evolving socio-economic realities. Rev.
