Rivers State House of Reps Members Defect to APC, Governor Joins After Meeting Tinubu

Six members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State announced their defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to leadership challenges within the PDP. The lawmakers blamed the instability in the PDP for their decision, stating that it made it difficult for them to effectively represent their constituencies.

The defection was communicated in separate letters read on the floor of the House. Additionally, Governor Fubara Dure of Rivers State also defected to the APC after a closed-door meeting with APC leader Bola Tinubu in Abuja.
