Kaduna Imam Leads Prayers for Nigeria's Independence Day

On September 26, 2026, the Kaduna State Government organized special prayers at Sultan Bello Mosque to mark the 66th Independence Day celebration, culminating in a parade on October 1, 2026. The prayers were led by the deputy chief Imam, Malam Abdullahi Aliyu, following the Jumaat prayer, with attendance from the Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Dr AbdulKadir Muázu Meyere, other senior officials, and Muslim faithful.

Malam Abdullahi prayed for wisdom and guidance for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in their leadership roles. He urged political leaders and citizens to uphold trust, truthfulness, and integrity to foster national development, reminding that political power is temporary.

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, announced that an inter-denominational church service would take place at Living Faith Church, with Attorney General Dr James Kanyip representing the governor. The official parade will be held at Murtala Mohammed Square, presided over by Governor Uba Sani.
