80 Worshipers Escape Bandits' Camp in Kaduna, 86 Still in Captivity

In Kaduna, 80 worshippers managed to escape from a bandits' camp during a church service in Kurmin Wali, while 86 individuals are still being held captive. The village head of Kurmin Wali, Sundai Dan Azumi, revealed the escape, emphasizing the need for urgent government and military intervention to secure the release of the remaining captives.

Initially, 177 worshippers were believed to have been kidnapped, but the number was later confirmed to be 80 who escaped and sought refuge in a nearby community. Dan Azumi expressed concerns about the politicization of the situation, highlighting the trauma experienced by the families of the victims.

The Kaduna State Police, represented by Hassan, is expected to provide a comprehensive report on the abduction.
