Village Head Confirms 80 Abducted Worshippers Escape in Kaduna Bandit Attack

In Kaduna, the village head of Kurmin Wali in Kajuru Local Government Area, Mr. Ishaku Dan Azumi, confirmed that 80 abducted worshippers managed to escape during a bandit attack on January 18.

However, 86 individuals are still held captive. The bandits invaded the community, targeting three churches and abducting a total of 177 worshippers.

Eleven individuals initially managed to escape. Dan Azumi revealed that the victims who escaped were unable to return immediately and had to hide in fear in the forest.

After a few days, one victim contacted the community, prompting a search team to locate and confirm the whereabouts of the escaped individuals. The village head expressed concerns about the fear preventing the victims from returning and emphasized the need to gather them together.

The Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, confirmed that a comprehensive report on the incident is being prepared.
