Kwara Troops Rescue 7 Kidnapped Victims, Including Baby, in Fierce Gun Battle

Troops in Kwara state engaged in a fierce gun battle with bandits near Ifelodun local government area, resulting in the rescue of seven kidnapped victims, including a 9-month-old baby. The joint operation on Wednesday, led by security operatives attached to the Office of the National Security Adviser in collaboration with the police and local vigilante teams, encountered armed resistance from the bandits.

The exchange of gunfire forced the criminals to abandon their captives and retreat deeper into the forest. Nine empty rifle magazines were recovered from the bandit hideout, and the rescued victims, including Adam Khadijat and Ahmed Hamadu, have been reunited with their families.

Injured vigilante operatives are receiving treatment.
