Gymnastics Festival in Abuja to Feature 900 Young Athletes

The third edition of the North Central Catch Them Young Gymnastics Festival is set to take place in Abuja on Saturday, September 26, organized by the Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria. Ninety schools from the Federal Capital Territory will participate, with each school presenting 10 pupils, totaling around 900 children.
Prince Kelvin Erhunwunse, President of the federation and Vice President of the African Gymnastics Union, stated that the festival aims to identify young talents early and provide a structured pathway for their development. The federation has set a national target of producing 30,000 young gymnasts and creating over 1,000 jobs for coaches by the end of 2028.
The festival, themed “Building Bridges, Renewing Hope for the Future Generation,” is organized in collaboration with the Turkish Gymnastics Federation, the National Sports Commission, and the Nigeria Olympic Committee. Outstanding participants will have opportunities for international scholarships and exchange programs with gymnastics authorities in Turkey, Japan, China, and Azerbaijan.
