9,000 Tertiary Institution Employees Benefit from Government Loan Scheme

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, disclosed that 9,000 people from federal tertiary institutions have benefited from the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF) loan scheme approved by President Bola Tinubu.

Over 33,000 people applied for the zero-interest loan, with 9,000 verified staff from 219 federal and state tertiary institutions benefiting in the first phase. The program aims to support academic and non-academic personnel, emphasizing the importance of investing in education to drive Nigeria towards becoming a knowledge-based economy.

The Vice-Chancellor of FUTA, Prof. Adeniké Oladiji, commended the initiative, highlighting the positive impact on university staff welfare.
