Governor Dapo Abiodun's Housing Reforms Address Nigeria's Housing Crisis

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State in Nigeria has initiated housing reforms to tackle the country's housing crisis, with an estimated deficit of 20 million housing units. Since assuming office in 2019, Abiodun has focused on delivering 10,000 housing units by 2027, with 5,000 units already in advanced stages of construction across the state's three senatorial districts.

Various housing estates like Kobape Estate, Princ Court Estate, and Gateway Aviation Village have been developed to provide affordable housing options. The yellow roof housing scheme has been particularly successful, offering low-cost two to three-bedroom bungalows with basic infrastructure.

The efforts have been commended by Chief Bode Mustapha and beneficiaries like Mr. Yetunde Koleoso and Mr.

Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, who have become homeowners through the scheme.
