A Soldier’s Long Quest for Justice

Former Staff Sergeant Sunday Agbogun, a 28-year veteran of the Nigerian Army, has been tirelessly seeking justice after his alleged wrongful dismissal in December 1988. Despite numerous petitions and appeals to various authorities, including the National Assembly, the army has refused to acknowledge his claim.

Agbogun, who served during the Nigerian civil war, holds several military and civilian qualifications. His lawyer, Ejike Amadi Chambers, has submitted multiple petitions to the Chief of Army Staff, Minister of Defence, and the President, requesting a reconsideration of his client's case.

Agbogun's ordeal began in 1975 when he was falsely accused of impersonation and extortion, leading to his dismissal without a fair trial. Despite efforts to seek redress since 1988, no action has been taken, leaving Agbogun in a prolonged quest for justice.
