Frederick Agbedi Appointed House Minority Leader

On Thursday, Speaker Tajudeen Abass announced the appointment of Frederick Agbedi as the House Minority Leader, representing Ekeremo/Sagbama Federal Constituency in Bayelsa State. This decision was made unanimously by the minority caucus, which includes members from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Agbedi's appointment follows the vacancy created by Kingsley Chinda, who represented the Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency and left the role to pursue the governorship candidacy for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State. During the plenary session, Deputy Spokesperson Philip Agbes of the Labour Party (LP) denied allegations from the People's Party that signatures were forged in the nomination process for Ikenga Ugochinyer, who was nominated for the minority leader position but later dismissed the claims as outrageous lies.

The speaker's announcement included other appointments within the minority leadership, reaffirming the caucus's commitment to advancing the legislative agenda.
