Agbedi Appointed Minority Leader as Ugochinyere Withdraws

Hon. Agbedi has emerged as the minority leader of the House of Representatives after Hon.

Ikenga Ugochinyere withdrew his nomination. The announcement was made by Rt.

Hon. Tajudeen Abba during a plenary session, where he read a letter confirming Ugochinyere's withdrawal.

This decision was influenced by recent amendments to the House rules that govern eligibility for minority leadership positions. Ugochinyere's withdrawal was aimed at preserving the integrity of the institution and ensuring compliance with the amended rules.

The House leadership was completed with the appointments of Hon. Abdulsamad Dasuki as deputy minority leader and Hon.

Mansur Soro as minority whip. The speaker commended Ugochinyere for his cooperation and commitment to due process.

Although there was a brief protest from some minority lawmakers during the session, there was no opposition when Agbedi's nomination was announced.
