Kaduna couple kidnapped, plead for help in viral video

On October 6, 2026, Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife, and their infant daughter were abducted during a bandit attack at Alrahus Estate in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna. The attack occurred around 11:30 pm when gunmen invaded their home.

In a viral video, Zakka, holding their crying six-month-old daughter Fatima, appealed for assistance, stating that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N300 million. His wife also pleaded for their lives in the video.

Additionally, a pregnant woman was abducted during the same incident, whose husband, Abdulkadir Bello, was in Abuja at the time. Bello attempted to contact the police but was unsuccessful before reaching out to the military for help.

The situation has raised concerns over the frequency of such attacks in the area. A family member revealed that Zakka and his wife, both orphans, had been married for six years before having their daughter.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar urged security agencies to act swiftly to secure their release.
