Niger State Shuts Schools After Abduction: Security Agencies Investigate

Following the abduction of children from St. Mary's Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, Governor Moham Umaru Bago has ordered the closure of public and private schools, including missionary and Islamic schools, in the state.

The closure excludes tertiary institutions in vulnerable areas of Niger North East Senatorial District. Security agencies, including DSS Nigeria and the police, are conducting headcounts to ascertain the actual number of kidnapped children.

The government is focused on rescuing the victims and ensuring the safety of citizens and properties.
