Ogun State Governor Donates N2m to Best Graduating Student at OOU Convocation

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun reaffirmed his commitment to education as a cornerstone of development by donating N2 million to the overall best graduating student of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) during the institution's 35th convocation ceremony held at its permanent site in Ago Iwoye. The event, coinciding with Ogun State's 50th anniversary, highlighted the university's legacy and milestone in the state's history.

Governor Abiodun commended OOU for producing competent and innovative graduates, emphasizing the importance of discipline and service. He also announced a budget allocation of N275.4 billion for education in the state's 2026 budget to enhance access to quality education and reduce inequities.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olayinka Johnson Agboola, praised OOU's academic excellence and its ranking as the 16th best university in Nigeria. Governor Abiodun's support for education was lauded as a catalyst for holistic development and aligning with the federal government's agenda.
