Regina Daniels' Friend's Arraignment Delayed Over Absence

The arraignment of Ms. Anthonet Izuegbu, a friend of Regina Daniels, was postponed due to her absence from the Federal High Court in Abuja on July 16, 2026.

The case involves allegations of illegal substances and criminal defamation against Senator Ned Nwoko. The court has rescheduled the matter for September 15, 2026.

Ms. Izuegbu's arrest is connected to a defamatory statement she allegedly made regarding Senator Nwoko's wife, Laila Nwoko, claiming physical assault and a miscarriage, which has been denied by Nwoko's media team as false and unsubstantiated.

The team emphasized that no such incident occurred and that Izuegbu's statements were part of a coordinated attempt to reinforce previous unsubstantiated allegations of domestic violence. Additionally, her arrest was reportedly preceded by a social media post where she made derogatory remarks against Laila Nwoko, which constituted criminal defamation.
