Abuja Airport Registers 10,000 Go Cashless Cards

The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja has registered no fewer than 10,000 Go Cashless cards following the commencement of a cashless toll policy. Mr.

Ahm Danjuma, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday, explained that the temporary gridlock experienced on Tuesday morning at the toll gate was due to the full implementation of this cashless toll policy nationwide. Although registration for the Go Cashless cards began in August 2025, many airport users had not registered in time despite sensitization efforts by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The cashless policy aims to eliminate cash toll collection at the gates, aligning with the federal government's broader reform policies to enhance transparency and optimize revenue. Danjuma emphasized that users must have the FAAN card to access the gates, as those attempting to pay cash will be denied entry.

Airport users have commended the government's initiative, noting that it improves service delivery and enhances revenue generation for national development.
